Over The Hill By: Eight Feet Tall (Lyrics)

Every memory
is dealt with different energy

the words just melt to me
like speaking is my enemy

& she's defending me
while I'm still acting selfishly

but I'm  not gonna talk
like I walk the walk

If I don't depart
she can have my heart

so do a little mathematics

break apart the pieces
of the future addicts

& Now were stuck on true dramatics

can't pull apart the essence
of the drive that pushes freely on
ugly my habits
------------------------------------

& I've just had it
so saddened by people goin mad that

I'm pushin' past it feelin guilty
while I'm lookin backwards

& I'm the bastard that's leavin' his friends
completely baffled

maybe I'm shook but not rattled
so gimme back the paddle
------------------------------------

It's just to early to tell
but I can hear the bells

they're ringing off in the hills
& getting closer still

guess I should swallow that pill
maybe I'm  over the hill
can't even pay all my bills
I'll take a minute to chill

------------------------------------

what are the skills
that help you people appeal
when all these dignitary visionaries
goin' in for kills

could of picked a better pen to write
on paper that I fill

when they bite more than can chew
I'm the one the pays the bill

so tell me why the vibe is rotten
closer to the core

If I put my life on records
they won't sell it in the stores

but nothing brings me more to peace
than standing by the shore

a quiet place to contemplate
I'll disappear some more

that ain't fair
but I doubt you care
I'ma slap that glare
better lose that stare

& that just brings me closer to the door

winnin' by a hair
with the sound impaired
now I lost my fare
got a flat no spare

I'm bound to plummet down before I soar

so what the hell you doin'
if your livin to sustain

somewhere along the line
you lost the dreams up in your brain

& all along the waters edge
you've shattered them in pain

the broken pieces still remain
don't think they'll ever fade

--------------------------------

& I've just had it
so saddened by people goin mad that

I'm pushin' past it feelin guilty
while I'm lookin backwards

& I'm the bastard thats leavin his friends
completely baffled

maybe I'm shook but not rattled
so gimme back the paddle

--------------------------------
It's just to early to tell
but I can hear the bells

they're ringing off in the hills
& getting closer still

guess I should swallow that pill
maybe I'm  over the hill
can't even pay all my bills
I'll take a minute to chill
